Jack Bell Gallery is pleased to present a solo show of new works by Felipe Rezende. This will be the artist's first exhibition in the UK.
I work mainly with drawing, painting and their expansive possibilities, tracing an encounter with everyday life and the elements contained in it. My research focuses on the universe of manual labour through relationships with its agents, stories, tools and places. From experiences, wanderings and the materialities arising from these contacts, I construct arrangements that inhabit the interstices between the surreal and testimony, fiction and reality.

Born 1994 in Salvador, Brazil, Rezende is a Fine Arts graduate from the Federal University of Bahia. His work has been acquired by the Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia, Brazil. Previous exhibitions include group shows at the Museu Nacional da Cultura Afro Brasileira, Salvador and Centro Cultural Brasil-Mexico, Mexico City.
